Susan Eastwood

Susan Eastwood served as a Commissioner of the former PCSW state agency, after working for 25 years in Connecticut as an advocate for victims of domestic violence, and fighting for women’s rights throughout her career. Susan is an applied anthropologist and environmental consultant who works to protect clean water, to promote clean energy and to eliminate the volume and toxicity of waste and materials.

Susan is also a member of the Connecticut Chapter Sierra Club Executive Committee, Ashford Zoning Board of Appeals, and Chair of the Ashford Clean Energy Task Force. She served as a Peace Corps Volunteer in Sierra Leone and co-authored Tobacco Culture (University Press of KY, 1998) based on her research with Kentucky farmers and their families.
