Dear LEGISLATOR NAME,

On April 12, 2021 the Permanent Commission on the Status of Women published a groundbreaking report detailing the economic impacts of COVID-19 on Connecticut’s women. The data revealed many areas where COVID-19 has adversely impacted the economic security of Connecticut’s women. Among the most striking results were the severe impact of rising domestic violence, increasing food insecurity, increasing home demands, and lack of childcare. All of these issues have dramatically impacted women's jobs, ability to advance in their careers, and overall economic security.

This data is paramount to me because I am a (WOMAN/MOTHER/DAUGHTER/FATHER/SON/ TEACHER/ NURSE /SERVICE PROVIDER/ CONCERNED CITIZEN/etc.) in Connecticut and this issue affects me and my community directly. I am particularly concerned about (RISING DOMESTIC VIOLENCE/JOB SECURITY/FOOD INSECURITY/WOMEN’S MENTAL HEALTH/ LACK OF CHILDCARE/etc.).

I urge you to read the report here (LINK) and consider the PCSW’s recommendations. Take these suggestions to heart and make Connecticut’s women part of your recovery plan!
